Lobster Rolls: Popular Snack that is Scrumptious to Eat

Seafood is extremely popular with foodies all around the world. Not only is seafood delicious but is also extremely healthy. Seafood is also the healthiest form of animal protein, healthier than lean chicken. However, seafood does not end with different sorts of sea fish, it also includes delicacies like crabs, prawns, shrimps, squid, mussels, clams, oysters, scallops and many more types of ocean treasures. But the lobster is considered to be the most treasured seafood item as it is extremely delectable.

Lobsters from Maine are supposed to be the best in quality and these delicious creatures taste fabulous when cooked well. Lobsters can be prepared in various ways and are a preferred source of protein as they are low in saturated fats and protein. Lobster meat is rich in selenium, iodine, and vitamin B. Lobster meat is also rich in minerals like zinc and magnesium. If you want to make a healthy snack out of lobster meat, you can try making Curry Lobster Rolls with Shaved Vegetables. To make the dish you require:


• 1 cup of cooked Maine lobster meat cut into chunky pieces

• 1 teaspoon of minced shallots

• 3 tablespoons of crème fraische

• 1 carrot, peeled

• 1 teaspoon of curry powder

• 1 stalk of celery

• Ice water

• ½ of a small bulb of fennel

• Juice and zest of one lime

• 2 teaspoons of chopped cilantro

• 1 tablespoon of olive oil

• Sea salt

• Cayenne pepper or Tabasco (non-compulsory)

• 2 hot dog buns or any kind of bread roll

First, use a mandoline to cut carrots, fennel and celery. The slices should be juliennes, very thin. After they are cut, place them in ice cold water for around 30 minutes. In the mean time, toast the curry powder in a skillet till it gives off a lovely aroma. Then take a bowl, and mix together, the curry powder, lobster meat, crème fraische, little bit of lime zest, shallots, and some cayenne or Tabasco. Season with sea salt and put aside. Then, after the 30 minutes are over take the veggie juliennes out of the water, pat them dry. Take another bowl where you add the veggie juliennes, cilantro and a drizzle of olive oil, mix well. Once done, split the hot dog buns in half and stuff them with the veggies and lobster mixture.

This one seafood dish will make any evening or snack time special. This yummy lobster roll is easy to make but extremely scrumptious.
